The app and the companion collect nothing
This is worth stating first because it is the part that matters. PhonePad has no account system, no server, and no telemetry. There is nothing to sign up for, nothing to log in to, and no analytics in either the phone app or the Windows companion.
The phone talks to your PC directly over your own network. It does not contact us, because there is no "us" for it to contact — no service exists behind PhonePad. You can verify this: the entire source code is public, and the companion never opens an outbound connection.
What is stored, and where
- On your phone — your layouts, your settings, and a key for each PC you have paired with. In the app's own storage. Uninstalling removes it.
- On your PC — the same pairing key, the name your
phone reports, and when it last connected, in a JSON file under
%APPDATA%\PhonePad. You can delete it, and "Forget" in the companion removes an individual phone.
Neither is transmitted anywhere.
This website
The site is static and hosted on GitHub Pages. It currently runs no analytics and no advertising, and sets no cookies. GitHub's own server logs apply, as they do for anything hosted there.

Downloads, issues and discussions happen on GitHub, under GitHub's privacy statement. Anything you post there is public and is not ours to delete.
Your rights
Where the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, you have rights of access, correction, erasure and objection. In practice there is very little to exercise them against: the app holds no personal data of yours and this site holds nothing beyond what is described above. If you have accepted analytics and want that reversed, decline the banner or clear your site data.
Children
PhonePad is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes materially the date above changes with it. The history is in the repository, so you can see exactly what changed and when.
